“Day Of Darkness And Blackness”, in questa edizione digipack limitata, in realtà non è il nuovo lavoro dei blackster polacchi Fire Throne bensì una riedizione dell'omonimo lavoro uscito nel 2005 per l'oscura e ormai scomparsa label Son Of Man Records, più diversi brani delle demo dei nostri, usciti nel 2004.
L'etichetta statunitense Nokternal Hemizphear ha quindi deciso di premiare l'operato del combo di epic black polacco con un CD che raccoglie tutto l'operato prodotto da Fire (voce, chitarra e già leader dei ben noti Elgibbor) e Unblasphemer (batteria, voce).
Va subito detto, analizzando l'opera, che possiam trovare una differente copertina a livello di artwork rispetto alla prima edizione, nonchè un nuovo booklet con testi e foto; inoltre il sound dei nostri, notoriamente rozzo e diretto, viene migliorato dall'opera di remastering effettuata da Dharok dei Sympathy. Nonostante questo chiaramente il livello qualitativo della registrazione diventa davvero pessimo quando giungiamo alla traccia di 'Psalm 88', la prima tratta dalle demo.
I nove pezzi dell'album convincono in pieno, complice un'evidente ispirazione genuina che si evidenzia in brani come 'Immortal Eternal Triumphator', dove sfuriate black si alternano a cori maestosi ed epici. Il testo del brano è una preghiera di adorazione a Dio: "You are Holy One of God! / You are the Christ, son of the Blessed One. / Listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth, / He is the Holy and Righteous One, / The author of life, master of glory, faithful and true, my sheperd, and overseer my soul."
Altro esempio eccelso dell'epic black dei nostri è rappresentato da 'Holocaustfirestorm', canzone caratterizzata da un maestoso inizio, estremamente epico, introdotto da echi di una battaglia che esplode fra ritmiche cadenzate, growl profondi e un riffing glaciale e melodico al tempo stesso. Le lyric del brano sono tratte dalla Bibbia, come evidenziano i riferimenti del booklet e ci presentano Jehovah (Dio) guerriero, che annienta il male che, viscido, si annida nel mondo: "See Jehovah is coming with fire and His chariots are like a whirlwind. / He will bring down His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire. / For with fire and with His sword Jehovah will execute judgement upon all men and many will be those slain by Jehovah."
Il sound dei nostri diventa classicamente black quando si arriva alle ferali song delle demo; nel complesso i Fire Throne hanno come punti di riferimento i crsitani Horde ma anche i più veloci e cattivi gruppi secolari come primi Dark Throne o Immortal (soprattutto per le accelerazioni ritmiche devastanti).
Chi ama i primi Burzum (facendo però ben presente che i Fire Throne sono in realtà guerrieri di Cristo) per esempio non potrà fare a meno di apprezzare brani come la cupa e sofferente 'Ojcze Nasz', che tradotto diventa 'Nostro Padre' ed è rivolto a Dio.
Il minimalismo e la semplicità confusa di brani estremamente rumorosi come 'Duch Panski', ossia 'Spirito del Signore', non potrà che suscitare la felicità di chi ama un black metal rozzo, con chitarre ronzanti e attitudine underground.
Detto questo aggiungiamo che i Fire Throne hanno fatto intendere di essere in grado di milgiorare vistosamente se si confrontano la versione demo di 'Nadchodzi Lew' (che tradotto diventa in inglese 'The Lion Is Coming') e quella dell'album. Infatti possiamo notare da un lato un confuso assalto rumorista con chitarre distorte all'inverosiimile e una batteria inascoltabile, dall'altro veniamo stregati da un pezzo in cui la linea ritmica diventa fondamentale e convince in pieno grazie ad un rallentamento centrale che permette ai bassi di uscire allo scoperto e di esaltare ancor di più le rullate del bravo Unblasphemer alla batteria.
Considerando che l'edizione del digipack recensito è limitata si consiglia a tutti gli amanti di black metal primigenio e senza pietà nei confronti del male di procurarsi quest'opera.

“Day Of Darkness And Blackness”, digipack limited edition, in reality it’s not the new work of the polish blacksters Fire Throne but a different edition of the homonymous work released in 2005 for the disappeared label Son Of Man Records, it contains also different songs of the demos released in 2004.
The American label Nokternal Hemizphear decided to award the epic polish band with a CD that gathers all the work made by Fire (vocal, guitar, and leader of the famous Elgibbor) and Unblamespher (drums, voice).
We must say that analyzing the work, we can find a different cover than the previous edition, and a new booklet with lyrics and pictures; then the sound of this band, raw and direct, improved thanks to the remastering made by Dharok of the band Sympathy.
Despite this, the qualitative level of the record becomes really worst when we come to listen the track ‘Psalm 88’, at the beginning of the demo.
The nine songs of the album fully convince, accomplice an evident genuine inspiration that is relevant in songs like 'Immortal Eternal Triumphator', where black outburst are alternated to majestic chorus and epic. The lyrics of the song is a prayer of adoration to God: “You are Holy One of God! / You are the Christ, son of the Blessed One. / Listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth, / He is the Holy and Righteous One, / The author of life, master of glory, faithful and true, my sheperd, and overseer my soul."
Another excellent example of the epic black of this band is represented by 'Holocaustfirestorm', song characterized by a majestic intro, extremely epic, introduced by echoes of a battle that explodes among cadenced rhythms, deep growls and a frozen riff and melodic at the same time.
The lyrics of the song are taken by the holy bible, how you can notice by the references of the booklet and they present us the warrior Jehovah (God), that defeats the evil that, slimy, lurks in the world: "See Jehovah is coming with fire and His chariots are like a whirlwind. / He will bring down His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire. / For with fire and with His sword Jehovah will execute judgement upon all men and many will be those slain by Jehovah."
The sound of the band becomes classically black when we arrive to listen the funereal songs of the demo; at the complex Fire Throne music is similar to the Christian band Horde and also to the speed secular bands like Dark Throne or Immortal (above all for the rhythmic accelerations) The fans of the first Burzum albums (keeping in mind that Fire Throne are in reality the warriors of Jesus) for example will appreciate songs like the dark and suffering 'Ojcze Nasz', that translated is ‘Our Father’ and it is referred to God.
The minimalism and the confuse simplicity of noisy songs like ‘Duch Panski’, ‘The Spirit Of The Lord’, will get the happiness fans of a raw black metal genre, with buzzing guitars and an underground attitude. At the end we can add that Fire Throne intends to be able to improve really a lot if we compare the demo version of 'Nadchodzi Lew' (The Lion Is Coming) and the song of the album. In fact we can notice that there is a confuse assault with distorted guitars and an unlistenable drums, and we can notice that we are bewitched by a piece in which the rhythmic line becomes fundamental and it fully convinces thanks to a central slowing down that allows to the bass to come out and to exalt the taxiing of the good Unblasphemer at the drums.
Considering that the review of the digipack is limited, we suggest to all the fans of black metal against the evil as soon as they can to get this album.
