Direttamente da El Salvador si presentano gli Icarus, band emergente sudamericana che è all'attivo dal 1999 ma che vede iniziare la propria carriera discografica solamente nel 2006 con questo interessante MCD.
"Busca y encontraras" fa capolino tra le ultime uscite di christian metal sudamericano aprendo le porte alla scena anche in San Salvador. I musicisti che prendono parte a questo lavoro sono il leader Guillermo Esquivel (voce e chitarre), Samuel Cardona (batteria), Adrian Guerra (Basso) e Josuè Parada (Tastiere), quattro ottimi esecutori che ci fanno ascoltare un buon power metal latino-americano con discutibili influenze progressive.
Il sound è molto curato per essere un MCD autoprodotto; ciò aiuta l'ascolto e facilita l'assimilazione dei cinque brani, fra i quali spicca sicuramente la titletrack 'Busca y encontraràs', che apre le danze offrendo un ottimo lavoro di songrwriting e soprattutto un'impeccabile esecuzione vocale del singer Guillermo, che dimostra di possedere un potente timbro e allo stesso tempo un'elevata estensione vocale; impeccabile la sua esecuzione in tutti i pezzi, sia al microfono che alla chitarra.
Superato l'episodio migliore del lotto ci troviamo ad ascoltare brani come 'La verdad' o 'Falsos profetas', esempi chiari di un power metal di matrice sudamericana; le influenze di band come Angra e/o Vox Dei spiccano leggermente, ed anche quando si tratta di eseguire delle ballad come 'Hjio' e l'acustica 'Pequè' i nostri si dimostrano all'altezza senza annoiare l'ascolto se non comunque in pochi casi.
Il disco ha ottime capacità di soddisfare l'ascoltatore, e pur avendo qualche ripetizione di troppo e qualche parte strumentale forse banale o poco curata, può piacere a chi apprezza le lyric in sudamericano; aspettiamo adesso il primo full lenght della band che dovrebbe uscire nel 2009.

Directly from El Salvador there is Icarus an emerging south american band who’s been playing since 1999 but it started its recording career only in 2006 with this interesting MCD.
"Busca Y Encontraras" is ahead the last albums of south american christian metal opening the doors to the metal christian scene also in San Salvador, and the musicians playing in this recording are the leader Guillermo Esquivel (voice and guitars), Samuel Cardona (drums), Adrian Guerra (bass guitar) and Josuè Parada (keyboards), four excellent musicians that make us listening a good american latin power metal with disputable progressive influences.
The sound is very painstaking to be an autoproduction, and this helps a lot the listening and it helps the musical learning of the five songs, and it stands out surely the title track 'Busca y encontraràs', with which it starts the album offering an excellent work of sound writing and above all an impeccable vocal performance of the singer Guillermo, who demonstrates to have a mighty timbre and in the same time an elevated vocal extension, faultless his performance in all the five songs to the microphone and playing the guitar.
After this song we can listen songs like 'La verdad' or 'Falsos profetas', clear examples of a power metal of south american matrix, the influences of bands like Angra and/or Vox Dei stand out lightly, and also when it’s the time to execute ballads like 'Hjio' and the acoustic song titled 'Pequè'. This band demonstrates to be like the other famous bands without annoying during the listening if not in few occasions.
The disc has excellent capabilities to satisfy the listener, and despite it has some repetitions more than usual and some instrumental parts maybe banal or few painstaking, the people that appreciates the lyrics in south american could like this album; now we are waiting for the first full length album of the band that if everything it will be right, it will come out on 2009.
