KREYSON  "Elixír života"

Questo è il terzo lavoro della band capitanata da Ian Kreyson e il primo proposto unicamente con il cantato in Ceco senza l’esistenza di una seconda versione in inglese. La vera novità però non è tanto questa assenza quanto una svolta decisa verso sonorità AOR che ad un primo ascolto spiazza chi li ricordava aggressivi e taglienti dai primi due album, dove, ad onor del vero, qualche inserto tendente al class metal era già presente ma era senza dubbio marginale.
La titletrack posta in apertura convince sin dal primo ascolto grazie alla sua orecchiabilità ed immediatezza che non va a discapito del riffing sempre ispirato e mai banale. Proseguendo nell’ascolto del CD invece della sequenza di brani veloci a cui ci avevano abituato nelle precedenti uscite discografiche si incontrano pezzi in gran parte acustici quali ‘Na Moment’, ‘Nech si zdàt’ e ‘Svìtanì’ intervallati ad altri in cui comunque i ritmi restano abbastanza blandi pur essendoci qualche passaggio più aggressivo intervallato alle aperture melodiche in corrispondenza dei ritornelli.
Anche in un episodio dove spingono un po’ di più come ‘Afrodisiaka’ è presente un refrain che strizza abbondantemente l’occhio al pop e solo giungendo all’accoppiata ‘Pojd’ se toulat se mnou’ - ‘Good luck’ si ha l’impressione di ascoltare la band di “Andel na úteku” e “Križáci”.
Resta da segnalare ‘Zlatokop’, posta in chiusura, in quanto brano relativamente sperimentale dove comunque la chitarra acustica la fa da padrona come in diverse altre tracce del disco per concludere la veloce carrellata sulla tracklist.
La svolta stilistica è evidente ed allo stesso modo è evidente che il gruppo ha la capacità di esprimersi a buoni livelli anche in questi territori musicali riuscendo a produrre un album nel complesso valido, però l’assenza di quell’aggressività che era un loro marchio di fabbrica nonché grande punto di forza ne fa un disco con meno mordente e capacità di coinvolge dei suoi predecessori.

This was the third production of the band leaded by Ian Kreyson and the first album proposed with the lyrics in Czech without the existence of a second version in english. The real news however weren’t this absence but a decisive turning toward AOR sonorities that at first listening placed out everyone that remembered them aggressive and harsh from the first two albums, where, in reality, some inserts toward to class metal was just present but without doubts marginal.
The opening title track convinces since the first listening thanks to its catchiness and immediateness that it doesn’t make a disadvantage to the riff always inspired and never banal. Continuing with the listening of the CD instead of speed songs as they accustomed us with the previous albums we can meet pieces acoustic in big parts like ‘Na Moment’, ‘Nech si zdàt’ and ‘Svìtanì’ staggered to others in which however the rhythms remain enough soft even if there is some passage more aggressive staggered to melodic openings in correspondence with refrains.
Also in an episode where they push a little bit more like ‘Afrodisiaka’ is present a refrain that is quite similar to pop and only arriving with the couple ‘Pojd’ se toulat se mnou’ - ‘Good luck’ we can have the impression to listen the band of “Andel na úteku” e “Križáci”.
It remains to signal ‘Zlatokop’, put in the album closure, an experimental song leaded by the acoustic guitar like in different other tracks of the album just to conclude the fast running shot of the track list .
The style changing is evident and in the same time is evident that the band has the capacity to express themselves at good levels also in these musical lands being able to product an album valid at the complex, but the absence of that aggressiveness that was like a brand and big point of strength it made a disc less biting and less capacity of involving than its predecessors.
