"Križáci" (Crusaders)

“Križáci” (“Crusaders” nella versione inglese) è il secondo studio album di questa formazione proveniente dalla Repubblica Ceca. La line up presenta due novità rispetto al disco d’esordio, infatti è subentrato Daniel Hafstein alle tastiere e Libor Graimer va ad affiancare Jaroslav Barton alle chitarre, ma lo stile ed il sound del gruppo restano fondamentalmente fedeli a quelli dell’heavy metal veloce ed aggressivo mostrato in “Angels on the Run”.
Dopo un’intro molto evocativa e solenne comincia la sequenza delle canzoni vere e proprie con la cadenzata titletrack che è seguita dai brani dove la band comincia davvero a spingere sull’acceleratore con decisione mostrando tutta la sua abilità nel combinare melodia e potenza in un connubio indissolubile e sempre ben equilibrato.
Una menzione particolare meritano quella meravigliosa colata di metallo di stampo americano che è ‘Plác bezmocnejch’ (‘Cries’) e la lenta ‘Trápení’ (‘Still’) con le sue sonorità suadenti e dolci ma mai stucchevoli o fini a se stesse che rappresenta l’unico momento dell’album in cui è concesso riprendere fiato.
L’ultima traccia è ‘V zajetí’ (‘The Prisoner’), un mid tempo che fa il paio con la titletrack e si dimostra altrettanto valido e coinvolgente.
Con questo disco la band non propone una vera e propria evoluzione quanto un affinamento delle capacità compositive ed un uso più maturo di quelli che sono sin dall’esordio gli ingredienti vincenti della sua proposta. Aggiungeteci che si registra anche una buona varietà all’interno del’album e avrete tutto quello che occorre per valutare “Crusaders” come meritevole della vostra attenzione.

“Križáci” (“Crusaders” in the english version) it’s the second studio album of this band coming from Czech Republic. The line up showed two news than the exordium album, in fact it entered Daniel Hafstein to the keyboard and Libor Graimer supporting Jaroslav Barton to the guitar, but the style and the sound of the band remained fundamentally faithful to the speed heavy metal and aggressive showed in “Angels On The Run”.
After an intro very evocative and solemn it started the sequence of the real songs with the cadenced titletrack followed by the songs where the band began to be decisive showing all its ability combining melody and power in an indissoluble union and always well balanced.
A particular mention deserved that wonderful american heavy metal song ‘Plác bezmocnejch’ (‘Cries’) and the slow ‘Trápení’ (‘Still’) with its suadent and sweet sonorities but never sickening and it represents the only moment of the album in which we can have a break with our voice.
The last track is ‘V zajetí’ (‘The Prisoner’), a mid time that is similar to the titletrack and it demonstrates to be valid and involving.
With this album the band never proposed a real evolution but the refining of the constituent abilities and a more mature ability about the winning ingredients of its exordium. Add that they could record in a good quality the whole album and you’ll have all what you need to valuate “Crusaders” like deserving of your attention.
