ABSUM 
"Eznerapsart Led Oicsnocbus Onamu"

Absum è il nuovo progetto di Azazel, che già conosciamo bene come one man band nei Dusk o nei blackster Suspiria Profundis. Questa volta l'artista ci offre un muscuglio di strani e incredibili suoni.
Possiamo dire che lo stile della musica e' funeral black/drone e i toni ci ricordano anche un pò lo stile di ambienti scuri e rumorosi. In questo lavoro, intitolato "Eznerapsart Led Oicsnocbus Onamu" non sentiremo ne' batteria ne' qualche sorta di percussione in tutte le tracce.
I titoli delle canzoni sono invertiti e dobbiamo leggerli, per capirli, partendo dalla fine della parola. La copertina e' anche molto black come stile e, rispecchiando la tradizione di Azazel, si presenta in formato DVD.
Sfortunatamente non possiamo leggerne anche i testi in quanto il CD ne è sprovvisto. L'album si apre con ‘Ollatsirc Id Enidutilos’, con toni calmi e ipnotici, come se non appartenessero a questo mondo. In seguito si inserisce il suono di un vento gelido, che sembra voglia spegnere le candele sulle tombe del cimitero e congelare tutto. Questi suoni si ripetono durante la canzone anche piu' tardi (dopo la parte dell'urlo soffocato del cantante e dei suoni duri da parte delle monotone corde di chitarra) e ci fornisce qui chiaramente gli elementi per lo stile funeral doom.
Il secondo titolo ‘Oido Elibivomerri’ inizia anche lui magicamente ma molto presto si inseriscono le chitarre, violente e rumorose. Il brano, grazie a questi suoni magici, crea un'atmosfera sacramentale senza fine. La voce di Azazel e' piu' intensa, risoluta e ci ricorda quasi un ruggito.
La canzone successiva e' ‘Issilce Id Oidicius’ che incomincia con una parte di basso. Poi appare il caratteristico suono violento della chitarra, che accompagnera' in maniera insuperabile tutta la canzone. Poco dopo l'ingresso della chitarra si inserisce la voce – uno scream black che e' solo l'inizio di lunghi e prolungati scream.
La traccia numero 4 ‘Len Oiub Ied Ieim Inroig’, che chiude l'album è di sicuro quella piu' interessante da ascoltare. Qui l'artista ci dà prova di quanto liberamente possa manipolare la sua ugola. E' anche assolutamente una canzone diversa dalle altre.
Specialmente per i primi sette minuti, dove gli ascoltatori possono avere piacevoli effetti della natura sotto forma di pioggia e tempesta. Davanti a questi suoni appare la voce di Azazel. La voce si mostra quieta e pacifica ed è molto calma; ci ricorda un sussurro di tipo dark. Questa parte spettacolare si svolge negli sfondi di tipo sinfonico. Dopo circa sette minuti e mezzo la canzone improvvisamente cambia ritmo e atmosfera. Tutta la pace e l'armonia svaniscono. Il brano è invaso da un'enorme ondata di puro rumore, molto netto e paralizza chi l'ascolta. Questa variazione può rappresentare una vera tortura per le orecchie sensibili.
Dietro quell'ondata si sente lo scream di Azazel. La voce sembra essere incatenata, schiacciata da qualcosa di cosi' pesante che non puo' essere liberata dalle mura che lo circondano.
Poi lo scream si incrementa e diventa piu' aggressivo come se cambiasse lui stesso diventando anche lui un inesorabile rumore. Dopo altri sette minuti di canzone il chaos si rassegna e tutti i rumori scompaiono.
L'arte rappresentata dal progetto di Absum è molto strana ed eccezionale, ma anche un po' monotona.
Dall'altra parte anche molto sporca, pesante e difficile da capire. Per apprezzare questo lavoro è necessario prestare molta attenzione e rivolgersi ad esso con il giusto spirito. Sicuramente questa musica non e' per tutti ma per i veri “veterani”, profondamente addentro lo stile black metal. In particolare si divertiranno con questo CD tutti i fan di gruppi come per esempio i secolari Sunn O))) o i cristiani Elgibbor. Come ha segnalato anche Azazel l'album e' propriamente personale e se noi seguiamo le sue parole possiamo iniziare un magico viaggio in tutti questi incredibili suoni per scoprire che l'artista ha voluto mostrare cosa esattamente si nasconde nei suoi pensieri.

Absum is a next project of Azazel, who we recognize well from the Italian formation Dusk or Suspiria Profundis.
This time artist offers to our ears a mix of really strange and incredible sounds. The music we can describe as a funeral black drone and the tunes remember also a little dark ambient’s style and noise. Important to tell is that we won’t hear any drums, any percussion during all the tracks. Next information that the titles of the songs are inverted and we have to read them from end to beginning. The cover is also very black and traditionally to Azazel’s taste, in DVD format. What a pity that we can’t reach the lyrics too.
The album opens ‘Ollatsirc Id Enidutilos’ with calm, hypnotic tunes, like not from this world. Then it hears severe cold wind, which seems it wants to turn off the candles’s lights on the graves of cemetery and froze everything. These sounds repeat during the song also later (after the part with suffocate scream of vocalist and harsh, monotone guitar’s chords) and give clearly to feel elements of funeral doom here.
Second title ‘Oido Elibivomerri’ begins also magically but very quick enters the guitar- rough and noisy. Anyway through her cloak punches this magic sounds and create sacramental atmosphere just straight out the beyond. The vocal of Azazel is more intensive, stoutish and remember some roar.
Next song ‘Issilce Id Oidicius’ starts by thick chords of bass. Then appears characteristic rough guitar, which insuperablely will accompany during all the title. Just right after guitar enters the voice - black scream with parts of long rage screams. The vocal exhales by quiet and peace, is very calm; remember dark, hoarse whisper. This spectacular part happens on the symphonic background. In the 7’ 30 seconds the song changes incredibly and not to recognize.
All peace and harmony vanishes.
Are invaded by the enormous wave of noise; but this time the noise is properly the strongest, very sharp and it paralyses. It can be a true torture for to much sensitive ears. Behind that billow it hears Azazel’s scream, emerged from distance. The voice seems to be chained, crushed by the something so heavy, that it can’t be free from the walls, limited to him. Then the scream increases and becomes more aggressive, as it would to change itself into the same inexorable noise. Around 14 minute of the song the chaos resigns and all noises are dying.
The art represented by Absum’s project is very strange and exceptional, a little monotone as well. From another side also really grime, heavy and difficult. Need many attention from the listeners, opened mind and fantasy. For sure this music isn’t for everyone, but for true “veterans”, deeply advanced in black metal style. Particularly will enjoy this cd all fans of the groups like for example secular Sunn O))) or christian Elgibbor.
As Azazel signalized the album is properly personal and if we follow his words we can start magic voyage surround all the incredible sounds and try to discover, what artist wanted to show, what exactly hides within his thoughts.
