Da Belfast arrivano i Bluetree, bellissima e giovane realtà del rock cristiano!
I nostri sono autori di un sound influenzato in modo notevole dall’elettronica che a volte si lascia trascinare lievemente su sonorità pop; alla loro prima uscita sul grande mercato musicale i 6 ragazzi di Belfast riescono ad impressionare subito per la compattezza del loro sound. I Bluetree riescono ad amalgamare i loro strumenti uno con l’altro, creando un sound speciale, che a volte incanta ed a volte è più aggressivo.
I componenti del gruppo sono Aaron Boyd (Vocals & Guitar), Ian Jordan (Keys), Jonny Hobson (Drums); Pete Kernoghan (DJ), Andy McCann (Bass) e Rick Bleakley (Guitar). Nel 2007 escono con questo “Greater Things” album autoprodotto, e nel 2008 lo stesso album esce in una versione “remastered” per la Fierce! Records for UK Distribution.
Inoltre i Bluetree sono un gruppo che riesce alla perfezione a conciliare la musica con la loro fede, capaci di “incastrare” alla perfezione rock e cristianità; infatti molti definiscono la loro musica col termine “religiosa”.
Ma torniamo a questo album che si presenta davvero come un lavoro “speciale”, in quanto i Bluetree sono stati capaci di dar vita ad un CD che regala emozioni dalla prima all’ultima canzone, grazie al sound dolce, a volte lento, a volte più aggressivo, e senza togliere il merito alle liriche del CD incentrate tutte sulla figura di Gesù e del nostro Signore.
Testi i quali a volte sono molto “espliciti” rivelano la forte fede del gruppo, mentre a volte le parole celano un significato più profondo che si legge dopo un attento ascolto.
“Greater Things” riesce a toccare punti di rara intensità con brani come ‘For you’ dove la band dimostra la sua capacità di fare musica che porta a Gesù, questa canzone colpisce molto per la sua capacità di “elevare” l’ascoltatore su un piano divino.
Da segnalare ‘Oh My God (refrain)’, brano di un minuto che è una canzone d’amore dedicata al Signore, a Gesù; senza nulla togliere a brani come ‘God Of This City’ ed ‘Each Day’ pezzi lenti ma di forte impatto e alla ghost track del CD, dalle atmosfere quasi sacre, che di fatto conclude questo ottimo lavoro con una loda al Signore.
Altro brano davvero bello è ‘When I Survey’ dove piano,voce e chitarra si fondo assieme creando un sound dalle movenze dolci.
Però il gruppo ha anche un’anima rock che viene fuori specialmente in brani come ‘Your Love’; ‘Standing Out’; ‘God’s Plan’ (dove la presenza dell’elettronica si sente in maniera molto forte…) e i due brani che aprono questo CD.
Allora, questo album di debutto dei Bluetree è davvero qualcosa di bello.
Un debutto col botto si potrebbe dire, la band riesce a creare nell’ascoltatore emozioni grazie alla loro musica e ai loro testi, nei quali il centro è la figura del nostro Signore.
“Greater Things” è un CD da ascoltare! I Bluetree saranno al loro debutto ma possono già considerarsi una delle migliori realtà del rock Cristiano…

From Belfast it arrives the band Bluetree, excellent and young reality of the christian rock!
They are authors of a kind of rock influenced in considerable manner by electronics that sometimes flues into pop sonorities; and at their first come out on the big musical market, this band is able to impress since the beginning for the compactness of their sound. They can amalgamate their instruments creating a special sound that sometimes it enchants and sometimes it's more aggressive.
The line-up is Aaron Boyd (Vocals & Guitar), Ian Jordan (Keys), Jonny Hobson (Drums); Pete Kernoghan (DJ), Andy McCann (Bass) and Rick Bleakley (Guitar). In 2007 they released this self produced album "Greater Things", and in 2008 the album was released in remastered version for the label Fierce! Records for UK Distribution.
Then Bluetree is a band that can conciliate with perfection the music with their faith, they are able to mix in a perfect manner rock and christianity, infact lot of people describes their music with the term "religious".
But let's return to this album that shows itself really like a "special" work, because Bluetree produced a CD that gives emotions from the first to the last song, thanks to the sweet sound, sometimes slow, sometimes more aggressive, without taking away the merit to the lyrics of the CD focused on the figure of Jesus and our Lord.
The lyrics sometimes are very "explicit" and they reveal the strong faith of the band, while sometimes the words hide a deeper meaning that we could understand after a careful listening.
“Greater Things” can touch points of rare intensity with songs like 'For you' where the band demonstrates his capacity to make music that takes to Jesus, this song strikes a lot for its ability to "elevate" the listener on a divine plane.
I must signal ‘Oh My God (refrain)’, a love song of a minute dedicated to the Lord, to Jesus, without taking away any qualities to songs like ‘God Of This City’ and ‘Each Day’ slow pieces but with strong impact and to the ghost track of the CD, with atmosphere almost sacred, that by the way it concludes this excellent work with a lode to the Lord.
Another very beautiful song is 'When I Survey' where keyboard, voice and guitar are mixed together with a sound with sweet movements.
However the band has also a rock soul that comes out specially in songs like ‘Your Love’, ‘Standing Out’, ‘God’s Plan' (where the presence of electronics is very strong...) and the two songs that open this CD.
So, this debut album of Bluetrees is really beautiful.
An debut with explosion we could say, tha band is able to transmit to the listener emotions thanks to their music and to their lyrics, about which the main figure is our Lord.
"Greater Things" is a CD you must listen! Bluetree are just at their debut but we can consider them like one of the best realities of the christian rock.
