HERO  "Immortal"

"Immortal" è la seconda opera degli Hero, band svedese nata per volontà del singer e chitarrista Michael Hero (già conosciuto con gli heavy metal Sons Of Thunder) e del bassista Bjorn Sundstrom (ma anche chitarrista e cantante). Il primo parto è stato "Bless The Nation" nel 2006 ed ora a tre anni di distanza esce un nuovo album che unisce le idee iniziali ampliandole e cogliendo molto del gusto attuale.
Gli Hero propongono un gothic metal che sfocia spesso nel rock e non disdegna momenti vicini al famigerato love-metal degli ultranoti Him.
Un esempio lampante di questa tendenza è 'Funeral Of Death', emblema di rock melodico e leggermente decadente, che ricorda gli Him ma propone in realtà un messaggio fortemente cristiano e positivo.
E' interessante notare come le linee vocali siano nella maggior parte dei casi baritonali e quindi pesanti e cupe; Michael canta in modo convincente e la sua voce profonda rende godibili anche lenti al limite del melenso come 'When November Falls'.
Gi Hero però non mancano ancora di sorprendere ed eccoci allora alle prese con un inno come 'Rock The World', che si ispira a piene mani alle tante song da stadio scritte dagli Stryper, all'insegna di un hard rock che possa piacere sin dal primo ascolto.
I nostri sono anche in grado di accelerare e di proporre un discreto power in casi come l'opener 'Immortal', in cui troviamo come ospite alla voce la singer Hilda Ruden, che esegue alcuni brevi passaggi di buon impatto.
Nel complesso i nove brani di "Immortal" sono godibili e spendibili in fretta; il CD è consigliato a chi vuol ascoltare un gothic "allegro" e colmo di messaggi positivi.

“Immortal” is the second work of Hero, swedish band born by the will of the singer and guitar player Michael Hero (just known with the heavy metal band Sons Of Thunder) and of the bass guitar player Bjorn Sundstrom (but also guitar player and singer). The first production was “Bless The Nation” in 2006 and now at three years of distance it comes out a new album that unifies the initial ideas enlarging them and gathering a lot of the actual taste.
Hero band proposes a kind of gothic metal that goes into rock and it doesn’t despises moments near to the love metal of the famous band Him.
A famous example of this tendency s ‘Funeral Of Death’, symbol of melodic rock and lightly decadent, which remembers the Him band but it proposes in reality a message strongly christian and positive.
It’s interesting noticing how the vocal lines are in most of cases baritone and so heavy and dark; Michael sings in a convincing manner and his deep voice makes enjoyable also slow songs like ‘When November Falls’.
Hero band doesn’t miss to suprise and here we are at the presence of an hymn like ‘Rock The World’, that is fully inspired by the songs written by Stryper, with an hard rock style that can be liked since the first listening.
The band is also able to accelerate and to propose a discrete power metal as the opening song ‘Immortal’ , in which we can find the singer Hilda Ruden like guest at the voice, that plays some short passages of good impact.
Altogether the nine songs of “Immortal” are enjoyable fastly; The CD is suggested to the people that wants to listen a “happy” gothic and full of positive messages.
