PRE-RAPTURE  "Blood Covenant"

“Blood Covenant” è il primo lavoro, autoprodotto, della band americana dei Pre-Rapture. I nostri si propongono come una versione cristiana dei Dying Fetus e ci riescono discretamente, lasciando intravedere, in queste sette tracce, ottimi margini di miglioramento.
Il sound di base grindcore si mischia spesso ad un gusto death metal che ricorda le cose più cattive dei Mortification, come nel caso della potente e mosh ‘King Of Kings’, in cui le accelerazioni al fulmicotone sono alternate a parti cadenzate nello stile della band aussie. Di certo però il grind è la componente principale del CD, come dimostra l’iniziale, possente e diretta ‘Blood Of His Covenant’, in cui gli assoli di chitarra di Jake si susseguono ad un ritmo folle.
Il trio americano dimostra quindi di saper accelerare ma di essere in grado anche di utilizzare buone pause melodiche per rendere ancor più devastanti i passaggi ultra-fast.
In conclusione al CD troviamo anche due demo song riarrangiate in cui i suoni, già non eccelsi per i primi pezzi, diventano insostenibili. A farne le spese è la batteria di Frankie Manikin, che ne esce poco valorizzata.
A livello di testi i nostri dimostrano di essere assolutamente devoti alla figura di Cristo, atteggiamento evidente nei testi e nella cover che presenta un particolare di una scultura bronzea della Crocefissione.
Di certo, a fronte di una produzione migliore, le qualità dei nostri usciranno alla grande nella prossima release.

“Blood Covenant” is the first released, self-produced, of the american band of Pre-Rapture. This band proposes itself like a Christian version of Dying Fetus and they are able to do it discreetly, showing excellent margins of improvements.
The grind-core base sound is often mixed to a death metal style that remembers Mortifications, as the case of the powerful and mosh ‘King Of Kings’, in which the acceleration is alternated to cadenced parts. Surely the grind style is the main component of the CD, as it demonstrates the initial, powerful and direct ‘Blood Of His Covenant’, in which the guitar solos of Jake are made with a crazy rhythm.
The american trio demonstrates to know how accelerating and how to be able to use nice melodic breaks to make more devastating their ultra-fast passages.
At the end of the CD we can find also two demo songs rearranged in which the sounds just not lofty for the first pieces, they become unsustainable. The drum of Frankie Manikin suffered the consequences of this and it resulted few appreciated.
At the lyrical level, the band demonstrated to be absolutely devoted to the Christ figure, behaviour evident by the lyrics and in the cover that shows a bronze sculpture of the Crucifixion theme.
Surely, thanks to a better production , the qualities of this band will be better with the next release.
