Altro gran debutto nella scena christian metal finlandese rilasciato ancora una volta dalla Bullroser Records, etichetta nascente che sta sfornando band cristiane davvero valide e promettenti.
Stavolta si tratta dei Random Eyes, già conosciuti in patria per le numerose esibizioni live in club, festival e per la presenza di elementi rinomati e ben conosciuti nell’ambito metal cristiano. Alla voce troviamo infatti il bravissimo singer Christian Palin, noto per la militanza nei connazionali Essence Of Sorrow di Jani Stefanovic e il batterista Markus Niemispelto già con i Wingdom, ma qui più scatenato che mai.
Il genere proposto dai cinque musicisti è un heavy metal molto melodico, di influsso chiaramente nordico e in particolar modo influenzato dalla scena metallica finlandese.
Nonostante la mancanza di un tastierista fisso in formazione, ma probabile per i concerti, sono da segnalare gli ottimi gli inserti di strings e soprattutto di synth che rendono l’atmosfera del disco più variegata ma soprattutto soave e mistica.
Un aspetto cui tengo sottolineare, per la sezione puramente artistica e compositiva, è la realizzazione di una cover art molto bella e significativa che evoca appieno il significato dell’album.
La prima canzone in scaletta è la particolare ‘Deep Waters’, pezzo tipicamente heavy con influssi di gothic e melodic metal, che trova in For My Pain, Charon ed Essence Of Sorrow gli esempi più significativi. Bellissimo ma parecchio controverso e accattivante il ritornello della canzone, tutto realizzato in tonalità minori e con cori tanto oscuri quanto divini.
La seconda traccia, ‘Living For Tomorrow’, corre spedita come un treno in piena corsa tutto solitario e si dimostra un vero pezzo da novanta dell’intero album. La song, introdotta da una voce femminile che intona il titolo, parte come una furia per poi sfociare in un riff di chitarra molto heavy e conciso, già sentito in qualche composizione degli Essence Of Sorrow.
Ancora una volta ottimo il refrain della canzone, che alla fine potremmo quasi definirla come il vero tormentone di tutto il disco, tipico brano virus che non si stacca più dalla nostra mente. Da ricordare inoltre che ‘Living For Tomorrow’ è stato anche e soprattutto il primo singolo omonimo estrapolato da “Invisible”, ancor prima che questo vedesse la luce.
Altra traccia killer è la successiva ‘Alive’, dove a mio avviso si tocca l’apice, attraverso una ritmica che più serrata non si può, con tanta pomposità nella prima parte e con molta malinconia nell’intrigante chorus accompagnato da ottimi riff. Da segnalare qui, più che in altri episodi, la prestazione vocale di Palin dietro il microfono e dei massicci chitarristi Olli Tanttu e Heikki Paananen che deliziano l’ascoltatore con accordi e giri chitarristici uno più bello dell’altro.
I tempi si fanno, invece, decisamente più calmi nella seconda parte dell’album a partire dal mid-tempo di ‘Where I Belong’, che regala anche momenti più riflessivi e melodici grazie ai bei versi del testo e agli incastri armoniosi che conferiscono un clima più “true-christian”.
Sulla stessa scia le seguenti canzoni ‘For Your Love’ e ‘Scriptures’ che seguono lo stesso iter compositivo nella struttura musicale, con parecchi frangenti orecchiabili ancora in evidenza.
“Invisible” volge alla sua conclusione con un trittico di ottime song. La celestiale title track che trasmette l’aspetto più cristiano dei cinque musicisti, ‘For All The Nation’ che mostra il lato più easy del gruppo, con melodie molto Sonata Arctica e infine quella che potremmo definire la power ballad del disco (più power che ballad), ‘You Are The Reason’, che ingloba al proprio interno influenze riconducibili ai connazionali Mehida, per rimanere in ambito, e persino agli HIM.
I Random Eyes a nostro avviso, non apportando particolari novità stilistiche al genere, si rivelano ugualmente un’ottima sorpresa nella crociata metallica cristiana, grazie soprattutto al calibro dei nomi più noti all’interno della line-up.
Uno dei maggiori pregi del combo finnico, che oggi va di rado nelle metal band, è quello di non essere facilmente catalogabili in un etichetta predefinita e di essere riconosciuti semplicemente come una band di heavy metal melodico che spazia senza confini: e questo, fidatevi, non è poco!
Fratelli, fate vostro ‘Invisible’, non vi deluderà!

Here's another big debut in the Finnish christian metal scene released yet a time by Bullroser Records, rising label that is supporting really valid and full of promise.
This time is the turn of Random Eyes, known in Finland for the several live exhibitions along the clubs, festivals and for the presence of famous element and well known in the Christian metal field. At the voice we find the good singer Christian Palin, just famous for being a part of the compatriot band Essence Of Sorrow with Jani Stefanovic and the drum player Markus Niemispelto playing with the Wingdom band too, but here wild like ever.
The genre proposed by this band is a heavy metal very melodic, with Nordic influence and in particular manner influenced by the Finnish metal scene.
Despite the missing of a stable keyboard player, but probably we should notice the excellent inserts of strings and above all the inserts of synths which make the atmosphere of the disc more variegated but above all gentle and mystic.
An aspect I must underling, regarding the artistic and composing section, it's the realization of a very beautiful and meaningful cover art which fully evokes the meaning of the album.
The first song of the set list is the particular 'Deep Waters', an heavy metal typical song with gothic metal and melodic metal influences, that we can find also in For My Pain band, Charon, and Essence of Sorrow. The refrain of the song is very beautiful and engaging, all realized in low tones and with chorus as dark as divines.
The second track, 'Living For Tomorrow', rushes fast like a train and it shows itself like one of best songs of the album. The song introduced by a female voice who intones the song title, it starts like a fury and then it flows into a guitar riff very heavy and concise, just listened in some Essence Of Sorrow's songs.
The refrain of the song is excellent another a time, that at the end we could define like the real torment of all the disc, a typical virus song that doesn't get away anymore from our mind. Than I should remember you that 'Living For Tomorrow' was the first homonym single extrapolated from "Invisible" , just before it was produced.
Another killer track is the following 'Alive' , where at my advice it touches the top, through a tighten rhythmic, very pompous in the first part and with a lot of melancholy in the intriguing chorus accompanied by excellent riffs. I must signal here, more than in other episodes, the Palin's vowel performance at the microphone and the rocky guitar players Olli Tanttu and Heikki Paananen who delight the listened with chords and guitar styles one more beautiful than the other.
The rhythms are decidedly quieter in the second part of the album starting from the mid time of 'Where I Belong', which presents also more reflexive and melodic moments thanks to the beautiful verses of the lyric and thanks to the harmonious interlocks which confer a climax more "true-christian".
On the same way the following songs 'For Your Love' and 'Scriptures' follows the same music making in the musical structure, with several nice breakers yet in evidence.
"Invisible" turns to its end with some excellent songs. The celestial title track who transmits the most christian aspect of the five musicians, 'For All The Nation' that shows the easier side of the band, with melodies like Sonata Arctica and then the power ballad song of the disc (more power than ballad), 'You Are The Reason', that includes influences similar to Mehida, remaining in this genre, and also to the band HIM.
Random Eyes at our advice, don't bring some particular novelties to the genre, they are equally an excellent surprise in the metal christian crusade, thanks above all to the famous names inside the line-up.
One of the most values of the Finnish band, that today is rare finding in the metal bands, is that they aren't easily recognizable in a default label and they are recognized like a melodic heavy metal band that ranges without borders: and about this, trust me, it's not few!
Brothers, buy this album, it will not disappoint you!
