Questa compilation giunge appena dopo la pubblicazione del terzo full-length del gruppo americano, ossia “Full Steam Ahead”, uscito anch’esso nel 2007.
La storia dei Titanic affonda le sue radici nel 1995 quando il combo viene fondato dal chitarrista Bill Menchen, dal singer Simon Tyler, dal batterista Tim Palmatier (già nei gloriosi e potenti Final Axe) e dal bassista Ray Kilsdonk.
Subito ad inizio 1996 esce il primo album “Maiden Voyage”, anche grazie all’esperienza dei nostri, che in poco tempo raccolgono materiale sufficiente a far pubblicare questo lavoro che unisce suggestioni heavy metal a buon hard rock molto potente e d’impatto.
Ben presto il disco verrà venduto ed esaurito. Di conseguenza la Magdalene Records lo ristamperà con tre bonus track in cui alla batteria troviamo addirittura Robert Sweet degli Stryper. Questo fattore lancia ancora di più la band.
Da questo album sono inseriti nella compilation brani come la squassante iniziale ‘Ocean Of Blood’, dal taglio più heavy, ma anche l’anthem ‘I Am Watching You’, un pezzo cadenzato e decisamente potente ed heavy. Vengono qui riproposti i due brani citati anche con il drumming di Robert Sweet come bonus track; l’interpretazione diventa più dinamica per quanto riguarda la linea ritmica che gode della prestazine del bravissimo batterista degli Stryper.
Detto questo però aggiungiamo che in queste track la registrazione globalmente è meno fresca e brillante.
Sempre dello stesso album abbiamo poi l’arrembante ‘Hollywood Blvd’, brano decisamente aggressivo, anche grazie alle abrasive linee vocali di Simon Tyler. Altro brano che ci riporta all’ambito più hard rockeggiante è ‘Gods Of War’, che ricorda molto l’hard’n’heavy degli anni ’80 di gruppi come Bloodgood e Barren Cross.
Esce poi nel 2002 il CD “Sreaming In Silence” di cui abbiamo brani come la diretta e molto rocky ‘Carnival Of Souls”. Stranamente notiamo come i brani di questo CD siano quelli registrati meno bene anche se comunque la carica rimane pur sempre inalterata.
Infine troviamo anche da “Full Steam Ahead” del 2007 pezzi onirici e drammatici come ’The Sea’ o la potentissima e iper ritmica ‘Shovel The Goal’.
Nel complesso questa compilation, con tutti i limiti che possono avere queste release, risulta davvero interessante per farsi un’idea sulla band ed anche per avere i rari pezzi in bonus con Robert Sweet alla batteria.

This compilation appears after the publishing of the third full-length album of the american band, titled “Full Steam Ahead”, came out in 2007 too.
The history of Titanic was born in 1995 when the band was founded by the guitar player Bill Menchen, by the singer Simon Tyler, by the drummer Tim Palmatier (that played at that time in the glorious and powerful Final Axe) and by the bass guitar player Ray Kilsdonk.
Just at the beginning of 1996 it came out the first album “Maiden Voyage”, thanks also by the experience of these artists, that in few time they reached enough material to publish this work that unified heavy metal emotions and a good hard rock style very powerful and with a strong impact. Soon the disc was sold and sold out. Then the label Magdalene Records printed it with three bonus tracks and at the drums we find even Robert Sweet by stryper. This thing made the band more famous.
From this album are inserted in the compilations songs like the opening song 'Ocean Of Blood', with heavier connotation, but also the anthem 'I Am Watching You', a song more cadenced and decisively powerful and heavy.
The songs cited before are proposed again with the drum style of Robert Sweet like bonus track; the interpretation becomes more dynamic regarding the rhythmic line that enjoys of the good playing of the excellent Stryper drummer; but however the recording is less clean and brilliant.
Always from the same album there is the song 'Hollywood Blvd', song decisively aggressive, thanks also to the vowel abrasive lines of Simon Tyler. Another song that takes us to the hard rock style is 'Gods Of War' , that remembers us the 80's hard'n'heavy style of bands like Bloodgood and Barren Cross.
It came out then in 2002 the album “Screaming In Silence” about which we have the songs like the straight and rocky 'Carnival Of Souls' . Strangely we can notice how the songs of this CD weren't recorded so good but the charge wasn't changed.
At the end we find also in 'Full Steam Ahead' produced in 2007 oneiric and dramatic pieces like 'The Sea' or the powerful and rhythmic 'Shovel The Goal'.
In general this compilation, with all its limits that these releases can have, it results really interesting just to have an idea about the band and also to have the rare pieces like bonus track with Robert Sweet as drummer.
